The Hunter Book 1 The Guardian Series eBook Lynnie Purcell Tatiana Vila Benjamin Locke

Something inhuman is haunting King's Cross; Clare's friends are being chased by unknown Watchers; an angel falls through Clare's roof; and, worse, Clare is plagued by visions of darkness. Clare and Daniel must face these dangers and more, as a threat unlike any they have faced before circles the future.
Clare and Daniel are back for more adventures in the first book of The Guardian Series.
The Hunter Book 1 The Guardian Series eBook Lynnie Purcell Tatiana Vila Benjamin Locke
This is a continuation of The Watchers series by Lynnie Purcell. That was such a great book series. This series begins a few years after the last series ended, about three years. After reading The Hunter, I must say that I am not quite as crazy about The Guardian Series so far.The book is enjoyable. Clare and the other Saints travel the world saving people from the bad Watchers. The story opens with Clare on a mission in Bangkok when she encounters a potential threat who disappears as quickly as she appears.
Susan the Ranger makes another appearance, contacting Clare about a new horror threatening the peaceful little town of King’s Cross. This thing is pure evil and can infect victims. It creates a vision in Daniel that turns him into a nightstalker. Clare has to chase him for two days before catching him. Then, she has to stab him in the shoulder to keep him from running off again. She has to invade his mind to reach the logical person who is Daniel.
Clare and Daniel return home only to learn that Reaper is suspiciously missing. Once Alex realizes that Reaper is missing, she knows she can find him. She knows they are connected enough that she can find him out in the woods and she knows right away that there is something not quite right with him. Yet, she wonders if they should break up. So, she avoids him. This particular story arc is not really the most logical and is one of my least favorite of all the storylines from all the books. Alex, who has a vital character from the beginning is barely a part of this book.
The Hunter is a tar creature that was trapped by Farrah because it had become so evil. As far as villains go, it is definitely different. How do you know who fight when the bad guy could be wearing anyone’s skin? At the same time, how do you convince a desperate group of watchers that your death will do nothing to change their fates?
This book seems to lag sometimes with nothing actually happening… nothing except hunting for the Hunter, talking to the Angel Mathias and helping Daniel’s brain have a seizure. When the fight finally comes it is sort of anti-climatic. The excitement starts when Mathias gets involved in the fight as well. He and Clare make a great team for destroying tar monsters.
The cliff-hanger at the end of the book, however, is brilliant. There is such a strong desire to see what happens to Clare, when and how she and Daniel find each other again, etc…
Overall, this book is a good read. It is not as great as the books in The Watcher Series, but it is just the first book of The Guardian Series. It is obvious that Lynnie loves these characters. I look forward to reviewing the rest of the books in this series.
Overall a 3 out of 5 stars.

The Hunter Book 1 The Guardian Series eBook Lynnie Purcell Tatiana Vila Benjamin Locke Reviews
The story for the most part is still compelling. I find it hard to deal with typos in a book & there were a couple in this one if not more. Also the whole thing with some of the main characters doing the "running with heels on" stupid moves like the old horror flicks is a bit annoying. Why don't they call each other on their cell/mobile as they run off & only use them when things r calm? They aren't stupid at other times..... All in all I still like it & will read the next one
i was almost about to say " i have to forget the watchers, the seies are over" and then i found out that the hunter was the continuation of this series, i finished the book in less than a week, i can't wait for more. The end of this book was like" omg, what? no way" i really loved it and i hope you enjoy it to, but you have to read the watchers seies first. i am waiting for the second book.
Imaginative, emotional, suspenseful, humorous and very captivating. I truly enjoyed the 1st 3 books and was very excited to discover these 3 to carry on th e story. I would love to see this made into a movie series. Truly impressive.
My mind is blown away. Wow this book is so good. I'm so happy that I get to read more about Clare and Daniel. And this series is extremely good. I couldn't put the book down till it was down. I can't wait to read the next I'm sure is going to be as great or better than this one. Lynnie's book are so amazing. I love how she put everything together and is easy to get in he world! I love this book.
UPDATED This is the second series I am reading by Lynnie Purcell. Before you read this series, read the Watcher Series. This is the continouation of that series. They keep you hooked!! I love them. I read the first 4 book in the Guardian series in 2 weeks. Now I am reading this one.
I was so happy to see that not only were all my favorite characters back but also all of the secondary characters that I loved showed up in The Hunter! I was quite sad when I finished The Watchers series, because despite the happy ending I knew there was no way things could stay happy for Clare and Daniel. Also, I was sadden to see the tension between Alex and Reaper (because they were my fav couple after at the end of the Watchers series) but I'm hoping their issues will be resolved. The ending was truly shocking and has left me anxiously awaiting for the next book!
If you like supernatural, Angeles and half Angeles, action and of course some romance, then this is a must read series. All together there are 8 books. First is "The Watchers series" with 4 books then a continuation (this is book 1) "The Guardian series" with another 4 books all together 8 books by Lynnie Purcell. They are so good I am already reading them all again almost a year later and will probably read them every year or two for the rest of my life, they are that good. So glad Lynnie Purcell thought them up. I love, love, love them!!!
P.S. MUST READ ALL 8 BOOKS ALERT!!!
